• Certification through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to handle refrigerants

• Previous on-the-job training

• Strong verbal communication skills; the ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in a way they understand

• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• You must be tech savvy (we use a mobile platform for calls)

Are you a military service member within 180 days of release from active duty, looking for your next career step? Blue Ridge Heating & Cooling is proud to partner with the Department of Defense to offer a unique opportunity through the DoD SkillBridge Program.

Our 180-day, no-cost apprenticeship program provides hands-on training and development in the HVAC industry. As part of the SkillBridge Program, you'll have the chance to rotate through advanced learning of HVAC skills essential for servicing, repairing, maintaining, and installing air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, combis, and indoor air quality products. Additionally, you'll acquire general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and construction as needed for heating and cooling work.

Eligible branches for participation include the Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserves. To qualify, you must be transitioning from active duty, hold secure command authorization, have an honorable or general discharge, and pass background and drug tests.
